Welcome to the first post of this new series, Quotes of the Month, which dives deep into quotes recently shared on the English Quotes social media accounts on Twitter, Facebook and the web.
Can you guess what the theme is for this month? 😊
You’ve guessed it. The theme this month is Anne Frank.
Anne Frank, one of the most well-known Jewish people who died in the Holocaust, whose diary is seen as a classic in war literature.
During World War II, Nazi Germany occupied the Netherlands and put all Jews in concentration camps.
In July 1942, before being recruited, Anne Frank's family and another family of eight people hid in a building. Anne was thirteen at the time, and they lived in secret for two years, during which Anne kept a diary.
On August 4, 1944, they were found and sent to a concentration camp. Anne died in a concentration camp in 1945, two weeks before the liberation of the Netherlands.
Despite adversity, Anne remained optimistic and believed that people are kind. However, the matter turned out to be different from her observation and thinking – although she had courage and confidence, she could not escape the grasp of death, and eventually died of misfortune. 😢
No matter what the external circumstances are, it is important we remain positive in heart so that we can face life with love during our days alive.
Thanks for reading. Have a nice day, my friend. 😊
